Frequently asked questions
Straight answers, before you sign up for anything.
If your question is not here, our team will answer it directly.
- What does AndWithYou actually do?
- It keeps everything that follows a death in one place: what to do next and in what order, the documents you need, the people helping you, and the decisions already made. You answer a few questions once, and the plan is built around your situation.
- Someone just died. Where do I start?
- Start with the situation, not the paperwork. Tell us what happened and we will show the two or three things that genuinely matter today and hold the rest until they are useful.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. The free tools and guides work without one. An account is what lets your plan, documents and progress be there when you come back, and lets you invite family members.
- What does it cost?
- The guides, checklists and estimators are free. Plans and what each one includes are listed on the pricing page.
- Can other family members help?
- Yes. You can invite people and give them only what they need. Everyone sees the same plan, so nobody repeats work or asks a question that has already been answered.
- How do you choose which providers to show me?
- By what matches your situation and location. Providers cannot pay for placement or ranking. Where money is involved anywhere in our model, it is written down in our vendor and referral disclosure.
- Is the guidance legal or financial advice?
- No. It is practical, informational guidance. Rules differ by state and county, and where we are not certain we say so and point you to the official source. For legal, tax or financial decisions, work with a licensed professional.
- What happens to my information?
- It stays yours. We do not sell personal information for money, and nothing is shared with a provider unless you choose to share it. You can see what is stored, correct it, or delete your account.
- How many death certificates do I need?
- It depends on the accounts, property, insurance and benefits involved, not on a fixed number. The document checklist works it out from what you actually have.
